Serial Box
|
Serial Box is a monthly compilation of serial numbers for many applications that run on most major operating systems. With both hotly debated legitimate and illegitimate uses, SerialBox, the sequel to Surfer's Serials, is the largest, most comprehensive and most popular serial compilation for the Mac OS X operating system. Although it has serials for many Windows compatible applications, the majority of serials are for Macintosh applications, and the primary application used to open the SerialBox database, SMX (a.k.a. Saltmine Serial Reader), works on Mac OS X only. A new secondary reader has been made called Serial Seeker, which only works on Mac OS X 10.3+. The database file itself is in XML format, ranging from 3-7 megabytes in size.
Serials for the SerialBox database are gathered from messages on the alt.binaries.mac.serials newsgroup, emails to the author(s) of the database and other sources, many of which are listed in the SMX application under the Resources section.
