Seer Green

Seer Green is a village in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located in the Chiltern Hills, about a mile east of Beaconsfield and a mile south-west of Chalfont St Giles. It is also a station stop ('Seer Green & Jordans') on the Chiltern Line between Beaconsfield and Gerrards Cross.
The village name 'Seer' is French in origin, and means 'dry or arid place'. In manorial rolls of 1223 it was called La Sere. The affix 'Green' came later.
Along with its neighbour Jordans, Seer Green was once a hamlet in the parish of Chalfont St Giles, though was separated in the 20th century because of its growth in size.
