Cup history
The cup is extremely venerable, having been competed since before World War II.
The current holder of the trophy is Tayport F.C., who defeated Lochee United F.C. 2-0 in a local derby final, both teams being from the Dundee area. The game took place at Tannadice Stadium in Dundee in May 2005. The game was broadcast live by Scottish Television.
Sponsorship
OVD Demerara Rum company has sponsored the tournament for the last eighteen years. The name OVD has become synonymous with the competition, so much so that the cup is sometimes simply referred to as the OVD Cup.
