Saulteaux
|
The Saulteaux are a First Nation in Saskatchewan, Canada.
They are a branch of the Ojibwa, Ojibway, or Chippewa people. The Saulteaux were first encountered by Europeans near the site of present-day Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario (hence their name"people of the falls", initially Saulteux in French, distorted to English Saulteaux), but they moved west with the expansion of the fur trade and now live in Saskatchewan.Template:Ethno-stub Template:Canada-stub
