Samantha Morton (born May 13, 1977 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England) is a British actress. She began acting at an early age, and by 13 was working on such television programs as Cracker. She eventually starred in such productions as Jane Eyre and The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling.

In 1997 she made her feature film debut, in Under the Skin. By 1998, she had received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, for Woody Allen's Sweet and Lowdown. In 2004, she received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress for In America. Although not nominated for an Oscar, she received critical acclaim for her performance in Minority Report.

She has a daughter, Esme, with actor Charlie Creed-Miles.
