|
S'Klallam is a Native American tribe in western Washington state in the United States. The tribe lives on the northeastern corner of Olympic Peninsula near the city of Sequim. The tribal center is more or less the functioning town square for the community of Blyn. The word S'Klallam means "the strong people."
The S'Klallam language (called Clallam or Klallam) belongs to the Salishan family of Native American languages. The tribe moved onto their reservation near modern-day Sequim, Washington in 1855 after signing the Point No Point Treaty.
