S&M (album)
|
Template:Album infobox S&M is Metallica's ninth album, recorded live with the San Francisco Symphony on April 21 and 22, 1999. The set list contains songs from Ride the Lightning through Reload, as well as two new songs: "− Human" and "No Leaf Clover". "− Human" has never been performed without the symphony, but "No Leaf Clover" has been played live with a tape of the orchestral prelude.
The album's title is a play on words. The "S" (ostensibly for "symphony") is formed from a treble clef, while the "M" (ostensibly for "Metallica") is taken from the band's classic logo. However, S&M is also a common abbreviation for sadism and masochism.
