Russell is a small township located south-east of Canada's capital of Ottawa in eastern Ontario, Canada in the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, on the Castor River. Originally the village of Russell was an agricultural village, but Russell has become a bedroom community in recent times, because of its proximity to Ottawa. Residential construction is booming as is population. Despite this, there is still a large agricultural presence in the area which is plainly visible on a drive to the village.
