Runesword 2 is a set of (now) open source computer role-playing games that includes an editor and five playable adventures initially created by Crosscut games. It aims to emulate the style of gameplay found in "paper-and-pencil" RPGs such as Dungeons & Dragons. The player creates a party of unique characters and takes them in and out of discreet adventures, called Tomes. Users can also take the role of "Creators", editing existing Tomes or creating new ones from scratch. Creators are free to import custom background, item and creature graphics, as well as sounds and music. In addition, Runesword uses a proprietary scripting language called Runescript to allow Creators the freedom to make new abilities/effects and events.
Runesword Tome and Open Source development is supported by an active network of Players and Creators. Check the forums at the official Crosscut Games website to join them! (link below).
