Roman Giertych

Roman Giertych (born 27 February 1971 in Śrem, Greater Poland Voivodship) is a Polish nationalist politician, member of Sejm, lower house of Polish parliament (elected 2001), and chairman of League of Polish Families party.
Biography
Roman Giertych comes from a famous Polish nationalist politicians family: he is a son of Maciej Giertych, and grandson of Jędrzej Giertych.
He graduated from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan with master's degrees in both law and history. In 1989 he reactivated All-Polish Youth (Młodzież Wszechpolska) organization, becoming its chairman (today a honorary chairman). For several years he was a member of National-Democratic Party (Stronnictwo Narodowo-Demokratyczne) and National Party (Stronnictwo Narodowe) which merged with several other organizations in 2001 to form the League of Polish Families (Liga Polskich Rodzin).
Under his leadership LPR made a great success in the European Parliament elections in June 2004, taking 2nd place in Poland with 14% of the votes (his father Maciej was elected a MEP). However, his stance is strongly anti-EU. He favors a strong independent nationalist Christian Poland with close relationships with the US. His euro-deputies accused the Euro Parliament of being under the influence of the "homosexual lobby".
In July 2004 Roman Giertych was elected a member and vicechairman of PKN Orlen investigation commission.
