Robert Paul Wolff was a radical twentieth century political philosopher who opposed both the conservative and, especially, the liberal currents of thought which prevailed at the time.
Most widely known for his advocation of unanimous consent democracy, he published books on several fundamental issues, including The Poverty of Liberalism, which pointed out the inconsistencies rife in twentieth century liberal and conservative doctrines, using John Stuart Mill's seminal works, On Liberty and Principles of Political Economy as starting points.
