Robert Love

Robert Matthew Love (born September 25, 1981) is an author, speaker, and open source hacker. He is best known for his contributions to the Linux kernel, with work on the preemptive kernel, process scheduler, kernel event layer, virtual memory subsystem, and inotify. Robert is also active in the GNOME community.
Robert was born in south Florida. In 2004, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Florida. A frequent author of journal articles and speaker on Linux topics, Robert is a Contributing Editor for Linux Journal.
Robert is the author of Linux Kernel Development, a book, now in its second edition, on understanding and developing code for the Linux kernel that was widely regarded as being approachable and well-written. Internet rumors are that he is working on one or more new books, presumably for O'Reilly Media.
Robert is currently a senior engineer at Ximian, which was acquired by Novell in August 2003. Prior to Novell, he worked for MontaVista Software.
Robert currently lives in Cambridge, MA.
