Robert Jastrow

Astronomer and cosmologist Robert Jastrow (1925 – ) was the founding director of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies in 1961. He is also Director Emeritus of Mount Wilson Observatory.
Jastrow received his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Columbia University in 1948.
He has attracted criticism due to some of his statements which have been picked up and championed by the "intelligent design" movement to support their cause.
