Rex is a census-designated place located in Robeson County, North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 55.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²). 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 55 people, 17 households, and 13 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 28.7/km² (74.7/mi²). There are 17 housing units at an average density of 8.9/km² (23.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 47.27% White, 40.00% African American, 9.09% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 3.64% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 17 households out of which 52.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% are married couples living together, 17.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.5% are non-families. 5.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
