Raiffeisen

Raiffeisen is an international bank based and founded in Austria as Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich (RZB) in 1927. It is currently one of the largest banks in the country.
RZB has subsidiaries in many Central and Eastern European countries, namely Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine.

There are a many independent Raiffeisen organizations in other countries.
"Raiffeisen" is a reference to Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, the founder of the co-operative movement of credit unions.
