Radio London

There have been two radio stations called Radio London and there is now a third up and running:
- A new Radio London is up and running on 1395FM or Sky Digital channel 940. The new range of shows and DJs include Trevor John and Susie Quinell on the Third Eye, giving psychic readings, while playing a great mix of music. DJs also include Mike Read. The station was only launched recently, with Cliff Richard and The Cheeky Girls at the opening ceremony. The station is located in Frinton. See www.bigl.co.uk for more.
- An advertising funded independent pirate radio station, Wonderful Radio London or Big L, broadcasting on 266 meters reaching most of England from off the Essex coast, 1964 - 1967. Radio London was closed by an act of parliament which made it illegal to supply or advertise on offshore radio stations. Radio London had a modern sound loosely based on the successful American radio stations of the time using radio personalities to introduce popular music and to entertain the listeners.
- A BBC local radio station broadcasting to London and the Home Counties, later relaunched as Greater London Radio (GLR), and subsequently relaunched again as BBC London 94.9.
