Quincy Carter

Quincy Carter (born October 13, 1977) is a American football quarterback. Before being released on 4 August 2004, he was the starter for the Dallas Cowboys team. Many believe he was released because he failed a drug test, however, the Cowboys coach Bill Parcells insisted that Carter could not be trusted with the leadership of the team.
Carter is now playing for the New York Jets, but that status could change as he has once again given in to drug abuse.
Carter was born in Decatur, Georgia. He originally signed football letter of intent with Georgia Tech in 1996, but opted instead for professional baseball after being drafted by the Chicago Cubs. After two seasons in baseball, he went to the University of Georgia college football program in 1998 and was drafted by the Cowboys in the 2nd round as the 22nd pick of the 2001 NFL Draft.
