Pumpherston, West Lothian

Pumpherston is a small dormitory village in the county of West Lothian,Scotland. Originally a small industrial town to the nearby shale bings it has since been incorporated into the New Town of [[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Livingston%2C_Scotland)]Livingston, which was constructed alongside Pumperston in the late 1960's and quickly grew much larger than its neighbours.
Pumperston still has its own primary school, which is shares with near neighbour Uphall Station. For secondary education pupils travel to one of the high schools in [[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Livingston%2C_Scotland)] Livingston, the closest being Inveralmond High School, in the Ladywell district of [[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Livingston%2C_Scotland)] Livingston.
