Ptolemais

Ptolemais is the Ancient name for several cities in the Mediterranean region:
- Ptolemais (Cyrenaica), a city in the Pentapolis of Cyrenaica;
- Ptolemais, a city in the western part of Macedonia in the prefecture of Kozani. The modern name is Ptolemaida and was named after Ptolemaeus, a soldier of Alexander the Great.
- Ptolemais Ace (modern Akko), a city in the province of Syria;
- Ptolemais Hermiou, a city in Egypt; and
- Ptolemais Theron, a city founded on the coast of the Red Sea.
