Predrag Marković was the acting President of Serbia and is the current speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia.
He is the owner of the publishing house Stubovi kulture. Markovic was also an editor of several newspapers and poet.
In his political career, he has been the president of the G17 Plus Management Board, the president of the G17 Plus Political Council and member of their Executive Board. Since 2003, he has been vice-president of the G17 Plus Party.
Markovic is a member of PEN and the Serbian Literary Society and the president of the Association of Publishers of Serbia and Montenegro.
He wrote two books: "Morali su doći nasmejani lavovi" (Smiling lions had to come) in 1983 and "Otmenost duše" (Prestige of the soul) in 1989.
He speaks Russian and Spanish languages.
His main research areas involve XIX and XX century history of political thought in the Balkans.
