Platea is a borough located in Erie County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 474.

Platea is located at 41°57'4" North, 80°19'31" West (41.951078, -80.325143)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 8.5 km² (3.3 mi²). 8.5 km² (3.3 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 474 people, 172 households, and 137 families residing in the borough. The population density is 55.6/km² (144.0/mi²). There are 184 housing units at an average density of 21.6/km² (55.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough is 97.89% White, 0.42% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.84% from other races, and 0.84% from two or more races. 1.05% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
