Pine River Township is a township located in Gratiot County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 2,451.
Communities
- The city of Alma is at the south side of the township, but is politically independent.
- The city of St. Louis is at the southeast corner of the township, but is politically independent.

Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 79.8 km² (30.8 mi²). 79.5 km² (30.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.29% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,451 people, 912 households, and 704 families residing in the township. The population density is 30.8/km² (79.8/mi²). There are 983 housing units at an average density of 12.4/km² (32.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.04% White, 0.29% African American, 0.49% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 1.43% from other races, and 1.35% from two or more races. 3.26% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 912 households out of which 33.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.1% are married couples living together, 7.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% are non-families. 19.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.61 and the average family size is 2.96.
In the township the population is spread out with 24.9% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 26.6% from 25 to 44, 24.9% from 45 to 64, and 17.1% who are 65 years of age or older.
