Piara Khabra

Piara Singh Khabra (born 20 November 1924) is a British politician, and has been Labour member of Parliament for Ealing Southall since 1992. As of 2005, he is the oldest MP currently sitting in the House of Commons.
Born in the Punjab, India, Khabra attended Khalsa High School and Punjab University, earning a degree in social services. He served in the Indian Army between 1942 and 1946, and emigrated to the United Kingdom in 1959. He worked as a teacher and social worker, becoming an leading member of the Asian community in Southall, west London. He became a Justice of the Peace in 1977 and entered Parliament in the 1992 election.
