Other work
In the most part of band's career, unlike other members' activities, Phil keeps a lower profile — he doesn't have many contributions, beside his work behind the drumkit in one of the most influential alternative rock bands in the world. Nevertheless in recent couple of years he took more active role in collaborating with other artists. He's been linked with the Samaritans Health organisation as a devoter and member for years. Phil also performed with the band Dive Dive in March 2005 and will also appear in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as a member of the band "The Wyrd Sisters" along with Radiohead bandmate Jonny Greenwood and Pulp frontman - Jarvis Cocker.
Following Radiohead's earlier collaboration (October 2003) with Merce Cunningham, Phil has been confirmed as a guest on several nights at Bite '05 at London's Barbican Theatre in June 2 to 5.
Role in the band
Phil's intensive timing, musicality and talent are strong and integral parts of the band's sound and worldwide appeal. He has developed himself as a gifted and notable drummer and is cited as one of the best and most respected modern sticksmen of the UK scene. Many fans agree that songs just wouldn't be the same had someone else performed on them.
