Peterborough Petes

The Peterborough Petes are an OHL team in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. They play out of the Peterborough Memorial Centre (capacity: 3,829). Peterborough won the Memorial Cup in 1979.
History
The Peterborough Petes started play October 1st 1956, when the team was moved from Kitchener (Kitchener Green Shirts) and it was announced that it would become the farm team for the NHL Montreal Canadiens.
The first game was played on Sunday November 4th 1956. Their original uniforms were in the colours of the Montreal Canadiens, and was adorned with the logo for a local shipping company TPT (Toronto Peterborough Transport).
The team name officially became the 'Peterborough Petes Hockey Club' in 1966. And it wasn't until 1974 that the team adopted the now famous maroon and white uniform with the still in use Petes logo.
