Perryville is a city located in Perry County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 7,667. It is the county seat of Perry CountyTemplate:GR.

Governance
Perryville has a Mayor/City Council form of government. The mayor is elected from the city at large for a term of two years. The city council consists of six aldermen, two from each of three wards. Both the mayor and the aldermen are elected for a term of two years.
Geography
Perryville is located at 37°43'34" North, 89°52'18" West (37.726123, -89.871564)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 20.0 km² (7.7 mi²). 19.7 km² (7.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.94% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 7,667 people, 3,031 households, and 1,991 families residing in the city. The population density is 390.0/km² (1,010.3/mi²). There are 3,284 housing units at an average density of 167.1/km² (432.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.47% White, 0.25% African American, 0.17% Native American, 1.32% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.16% from other races, and 0.63% from two or more races. 0.70% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 3,031 households out of which 31.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.4% are married couples living together, 11.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.3% are non-families. 30.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.41 and the average family size is 3.00.
In the city the population is spread out with 24.6% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 18.5% from 45 to 64, and 19.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 89.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 86.9 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $33,934, and the median income for a family is $43,072. Males have a median income of $27,115 versus $19,736 for females. The per capita income for the city is $16,630. 11.0% of the population and 5.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 10.6% of those under the age of 18 and 15.9% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
