Pendleton is a town located in Niagara County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 6,050. The town is named after it first principal community, Pendleton.
The Town of Pendleton lies on the southern edge of Niagara County.

History
The Town of Pendleton was set apart in 1827 from part of the Town of Niagara. Pendleton Clark, one of the first settlers, gave his name to several locations in the town and eventually to the town itself.

Mass murderer Timothy McVeigh, who was responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing, was a native of Pendleton.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 71.1 km² (27.4 mi²). 70.4 km² (27.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.95% water.
The south border of the town is Tonawanda Creek. The Erie Canal passes through the eastern part of the town, where it connects to Tonawanda Creek..
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 6,050 people, 2,116 households, and 1,724 families residing in the town. The population density is 85.9/km² (222.6/mi²). There are 2,162 housing units at an average density of 30.7/km² (79.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.53% White, 0.41% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.26% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.03% from other races, and 0.58% from two or more races. 0.60% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,116 households out of which 39.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.4% are married couples living together, 6.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 18.5% are non-families. 14.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.85 and the average family size is 3.19.
In the town the population is spread out with 27.6% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 25.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 100.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 99.2 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $60,625, and the median income for a family is $63,342. Males have a median income of $46,175 versus $33,466 for females. The per capita income for the town is $23,651. 4.7% of the population and 3.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 6.5% of those under the age of 18 and 2.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

- Wendelville -- A hamlet near Tonawanda Creek on Route 270.
- Pendleton -- A small hamlet located by the southern town line near the junction of the Erie Canal and Tonawanda Creek.
