Osaka Monorail

Osaka Monorail (大阪モノレール, 大阪高速鉄道株式会社) is a monorail line in northern Osaka prefecture, Japan, noted in the Guinness book of Records as the longest line in the world. It opened in 1990, and currently runs on an elevated line between Osaka International Airport (Itami airport) and the suburbs of Toyonaka, Suita, and Kadoma. Its current total length is 23.8 kilometers, the main line spanning 21.2 km, and a line between the Expo Park (万博記念公園駅) and the Osaka University Hospital (阪大病院前駅) spanning 2.6 km. An extension to this line is currently under construction extending to or near the Osaka Univseristy for the study for foreign languages (大阪外国語大学).
A trip over the entire main line takes about 36 minutes, and costs ¥540.
