Omnibus

Omnibus is a Latin word meaning "for all (people)" and has 5 main meanings in standard English:
- A vehicle for transporting large numbers of people. See bus.
- A book or video collecting two or more previous works by the same author or director. See omnibus (media).
- For a soap opera or similar broadcast it is a compilation of daily episodes that is usually broadcast during the following weekend. See omnibus (broadcast)
- A law which covers many different subjects, or has had many unrelated additions tacked onto it.
- A survey in which data on a wide variety of subjects is collected during the same interview. See omnibus (survey)
Note: Omnibus had no plural in Latin, because it was already a plural word. In English, its plural is "omnibuses", not "omnibi", which is a solecism.
