Omega Supreme
Omega Supreme is the best known of the guardian robots and possibly the last one remaining, one that has gained sentience and allied himself with the Autobot faction of the Cybertron war. Omega is extremely serious, even to the point of shutting out his emotions. He speaks in simple quips, such as "Possibility: Low". Omega Supreme's main purpose on earth is protection of the Autobots assets, such as the ark. The decision to release him in open battle must be taken with great consideration; his size and immense power makes him extremely dangerous. He can take on the most powerful of Gestalts and come out on top.

In Cybertron's past, Omega was friends with the team of robots who would become known as the Constructicons, appointed as guardian of their beautiful creation, Crystal City. However, when the Constructicons fell prey to Megatron's Robo-Smasher and became Decepticons, they lured Omega away from the city and destroyed it. Omega tracked them down, but they revealed the new power Megatron had given them and combined into Devastator. During the struggle, Omega was targeted by the Robo-Smasher, and although he managed to shake it off, it affected his programming and robbed him of his emotions, leaving him feeling only hate for the Constructicons, who he proceeded to track to Earth in 1985, joining up with Optimus Prime's forces on the planet and awaiting his chance for revenge. The chance eventually came, and he disobeyed orders to take it, nearly allowing San Francisco to be destroyed in the process. Omega began to accept that there is more to life than revenge.

His voice is supplied by Jack Angel.

Marvel Comics

In this continuity, an early attempt at mimicking the Decepticons' combiner Transformers led Grapple to create Omega Supreme, a three-part combiner (rocket, tank and base). The exceptionally powerful Omega was charged with guarding the base while the Autobots attempted to acquire more data on the combination process. In their absence, Megatron led a Decepticon attack on the Autobot base, but Omega successfully deactivated Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Buzzsaw, Frenzy and Rumble, forcing Megatron to flee.

Subsequently, Omega established an assortment of new security devices for the Ark, including a Power Booster Rod that remotely operated the security grid. When Starscream seized control of the power of the Underbase, Omega battled him in Buenos Aires, but was defeated and destroyed.

Energon

In the alternate universe of Transformers Energon, Omega Supreme is a legendary figure from Cybertron's past who once defeated Unicron. Sealed away beneath the planet's surface, he was awakened in 2020 by Primus and Doctor Brian Jones, and joined in the battle against Megatron's forces, combining with Optimus Prime to form "Optimus Supreme." When Unicron was then reactivated, a power boost from Primus allowed Optimus Supreme to grow to match Unicron's height, and a massive battle ensued, ending with Unicron's destruction.

He was voiced by Scott McNeil (US) & Kenta Miyake (Japan).

Guardian Robots

Guardian Robots (Typical)
In the original Transformers cartoon, the guardian robots started out as the Dark Guardians, servants of the Quintessons, who defended their cities against the rebellion of their creations. They were deactivated by the leader of the rebellion, A-3, allowing the rebels to force the Quintessons of the planet. The Dark Guardians were then reprogrammed by the Autobots (possibly hepling to end - or at least stalemate - the first Autobot/Decepticon war), and policed the peace during the Golden Age of Cybertron. Usually blue in color, they required artificial intelligence programming within a given set of mission parameters or direct remote control; autonomus activity was limited. These transformers were slow, but extremely powerful.

Physically, they are essentially identical to Omega Supreme (however, their animation model has them drawn as a lot stockier and "fatter"). One hand is a claw while the other is a blaster. They can transform into a spaceport; A transformation into a battle station is also likely. The faces of the Guardians are protected by a transparent shield; it is likely that their faces are extremely weak underneath this protection and may be the key to disabling them in a firefight.

Omega Sentinels

In the Dreamwave Comics universe, the Omega Sentinels is the name for the Guardian Robots, here rendered in shades of red and dark blue, in homage to the original release of the toy which would become Omega Supreme by Toybox. One of them was dispatched to locate the missing Jetfire and Omega Supreme, but when it crashed on Earth, it was reprogrammed by Megatron and repainted in gold and black. It later regainned it's Autobot heritage through contact with the Matrix.
