OTP

OTP is an fandom acronym for One True Pairing. The term originally meant whatever coupling a story explicitly suggested or depicted. Within the anime fandom, especially love comedies with love triangles, it is sometimes used to imply a character will obviously end up with another character despite the presence of other suitors.
Lately, it has become tongue-in-cheek shipping term used to refer to a favorite character pairing, especially if it is non-canonial or unusual.
A One Time Programmable (or OTP) is an electronic chip that contains programmable read-only memory (PROM). This memory is writable only once with a suitable writing device. A number of common chips can be produced as OTP:
- ROMs
- PALs (Programmable Array Logic) - a version that can be erased and reprogrammed is called GAL
- FPGAs
- Microcontrollers
In cryptography, OTP can also mean One-time pad, a secure cipher. OTP can also mean One-time password
