Nunda is a town located in Livingston County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,017.
The Town of Nunda is in the southwest part of the county and contains a village also called Nunda.

History
The town was formed in 1808 from the Town of Angelica in Allegany County, New York.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 96.1 km² (37.1 mi²). 96.0 km² (37.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.08% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 3,017 people, 1,131 households, and 842 families residing in the town. The population density is 31.4/km² (81.4/mi²). There are 1,298 housing units at an average density of 13.5/km² (35.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.88% White, 0.53% Black or African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.33% from other races, and 0.83% from two or more races. 0.89% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,131 households out of which 38.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.6% are married couples living together, 13.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.5% are non-families. 20.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.63 and the average family size is 3.02.
In the town the population is spread out with 27.9% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 29.0% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 98.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.7 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $40,665, and the median income for a family is $44,677. Males have a median income of $32,483 versus $22,660 for females. The per capita income for the town is $17,604. 9.1% of the population and 5.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 11.0% of those under the age of 18 and 4.3% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

- Rattlesnake Hill Wildlife Management Area -- A state conservation area in the southeast part of the town.
Adjacent towns and areas
The Town of Portage is on the west side, and the Towns of West Sparta and Ossian are to the east. The Town of Mount Morris is across the northern boundary. The Town of Grove in Allegany County is on the south.
