North Dansville is a town located in Livingston County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 5,738.

Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 25.5 km² (9.8 mi²). 25.5 km² (9.8 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

The east and south town lines are the border of Steuben County, New York.
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 5,738 people, 2,318 households, and 1,513 families residing in the town. The population density is 225.4/km² (583.9/mi²). There are 2,534 housing units at an average density of 99.5/km² (257.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 96.15% White, 1.06% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.58% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.10% from other races, and 0.85% from two or more races. 1.78% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,318 households out of which 32.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.1% are married couples living together, 13.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.7% are non-families. 28.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.44 and the average family size is 2.98.
