Nikolai Rysakov

Rysakov, Nikolai (Рысаков, Николай Иванович in Russian)(1861 - 1881), Russian revolutionary, member of Narodnaya Volya.
Rysakov joined revolutionary movement in 1879, when he was a student at Institute of Mining Engineering in St.Petersburg.
On March 1, 1881 he threw the first bomb at Alexander II of Russia, which didn't harm the Tsar (Ignacy Hryniewiecki's bomb did). Rysakov was arrested on the spot. In order to save his life, he tried to cooperate with the investigators by giving them valuable information about his accomplices.
He was hanged with the rest of the Pervomartovtsi.
