The name Nidoqueen originates from the words Nidorina (from whom this Pokémon evolves) and queen.

Avaliability

Nidoqueen is available in every Pokémon game except Ruby and Sapphire, though you can trade it to those two games by using Fire Red and Leaf Green.

In all of the video games, you have to use a Moon Stone on Nidorina to make it evolve.

Information

Nidoqueen's super-hard, needle-like scales scales provide strong protection. It uses its hefty bulk to execute powerful moves. Tough scales cover the sturdy body of this Pokémon. It appears that the scales grow in cycles. It never shows signs of shrinking from any attack. Its scales stand up when excited. It is adept at sending foes flying with harsh tackles.

Nidoqueen uses its scaly, rugged body to seal the entrance of its nest and protect its young from predators. This Pokémon is at its strongest when it is defending its young.

Anime Appearance

Nidoqueen appears in an episode while Ash is travelling the Orange Islands. One of the Gym Leaders has one, and it helps him to make a boat out of ice.
