Newport CDP is a census-designated place (CDP) witin the town of Newport in Sullivan County, New Hampshire. The U.S. Census uses the CDP as a reporting level to provide separate demographic detail for the more densely populated village area of the town. All the values reported here are included in the aggregate numbers for the town as a whole (see:Newport, New Hampshire). As of the 2000 census, the village area had a total population of 4,008.

The United States Census Bureau defines the CDP as a total area of 28.3 km² (10.9 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 4,008 people, 1,581 households, and 1,019 families residing in the settlement. The population density is 141.6/km² (366.5/mi²). There are 1,676 housing units at an average density of 59.2 persons/km² (153.3 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.13% White, 0.22% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.07% from other races, and 1.17% from two or more races. 0.45% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,581 households out of which 31.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.1% are married couples living together, 10.8% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 35.5% are non-families. 27.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.47 and the average family size is 3.00.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 27.0% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 29.8% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 15.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 93.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 84.7 males.
