|
Newgate was a gate in the west of London Wall round the City of London. It was between Ludgate and Aldersgate. The Old Bailey currently stands on its site.
Newgate Street is just north of St Paul's Cathedral. To the west it leads into the Holborn Viaduct, and to the east it becomes Cheapside.
