New Zealand Cricket, formerly the New Zealand Cricket Board, is the governing body for professional cricket in New Zealand.
New Zealand Cricket operates the New Zealand cricket team, organising Test tours and one-day internationals with other nations. It also organises domestic cricket in New Zealand, including the State Championship first-class competition and the State Shield domestic one-day competition.
One of the most famous incidents in New Zealand Cricket occurred during a One-day International in 1980-81, when New Zealand required a six to tie the match off the last ball. The Australian bowler Trevor Chappell bowled an underarm delivery making it impossible for the batsman to score a six.
