Multivitamin
|
Multivitamin tablets are marketed as safe-to-consume dietary supplements. They contain a range of vitamins, minerals, and herbal extracts which provide a proper dietary balance, and have relatively few side effects. Multivitamins are typically made from natural sources.
Because of their categorization as a natural medicine by the United States Department of Agriculture, they are not required to undergo the same rigorous testing procedures typical of pharmaceutical drugs. Many natural herb extracts can, however, have potent effects and may interact in unexpected ways with other drugs.
While multivitamins can be a valuable tool to correct dietary imbalances, it is worth exercising basic caution when choosing a multivitamin tablet, especially if you have any pre-existing conditions.
Vitamins are dietary components which are required by the human body, usually in small amounts. Multivitamins usually contain minerals and herbal_extracts as well.
