Mt. Celestia
|
Mt. Celestia is the Dungeons & Dragons name for the Seven Heavens.
Mt. Celestia consists of following layers:
- Lunia, the Silver Heaven. Travelers to the plane find themselves appearing in the Silver Sea, an infinite wine-dark ocean of holy water. The sky is dark but filled with silvery stars. From Lunia, a traveler can reach any of the other layers of Mt. Celestia.
- Mercuria, the Golden Heaven, is a place of thin air and high hopes, where golden light suffuses everything. The slopes are tame, the valleys lush, and the streams fast-running. On Mercuria, great tombs and mausoleums grant eternal rest to the noblest of fighters. These warriors are honored during an annual Day of Memory.
- Venya
- Solania
- Mertion
- Jovar
- Chronias
The "Seven Mounting Heavens of Celestia" are home to four of the Dungeons & Dragons gods: Bahamut, Heironeous, Moradin, and Yondalla.
Mt. Celestia is the ultimate in law and good. Fiends of the lower planes, such as Acheron, would conquer the paradise of Celestia if they could. All things are beautiful and nigh-perfect in Celestia, and creatures of Lawful Good alignment go to Celestia after death. The dead ascend the layers of Mt. Celestia until they become one with Chronias, the Illuminated Heaven.
