Morristown is a village located in St. Lawrence County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 456. The village is named after Gouverneur Morris.
The Village of Morristown is on the northern edge of the Town of Morristown. The village is north of the junction of Routes 12, 37, and 58.

History
The first settlers of the town began the community around 1804.
Geography
The village is on the south bank of the St. Lawrence River, opposite Brockville, Ontario in Canada.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.6 km² (1.0 mi²). 2.5 km² (1.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.90% water.

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 456 people, 180 households, and 117 families residing in the village. The population density is 179.7/km² (466.4/mi²). There are 232 housing units at an average density of 91.4/km² (237.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 96.93% White, 1.32% Black or African American, 0.88% Native American, 0.44% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.22% from other races, and 0.22% from two or more races. 1.54% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 180 households out of which 31.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.3% are married couples living together, 12.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.0% are non-families. 30.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.47 and the average family size is 3.01.
In the village the population is spread out with 27.9% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 27.0% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 92.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.0 males.
The median income for a household in the village is $27,969, and the median income for a family is $30,938. Males have a median income of $26,563 versus $20,000 for females. The per capita income for the village is $14,156. 18.9% of the population and 12.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 26.7% of those under the age of 18 and 3.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
