Mordehai Milgrom

Mordehai Milgrom is a professor at the Weizmann Institute department of Condensed Matter Physics, located at 76100 Rehovot in Israel.
His current research interests include:
- Galaxy dynamics:
- the dark-matter problem;
- Modified Newtonian dynamics: As an alternative explanation to the dark matter and galaxies rotation curves problem, Milgrom suggested to modify Newton's Second Law for very small accelerations. His theory known as MOND.
- cosmology.
- High-Energy astrophysics:
- ultra-high-energy cosmic rays;
- gamma-raybursters;
- gamma- and x-ray sources.
