Mitsuteru Yokoyama

Mitsuteru Yokoyama (横山 光輝; Yokoyama Mitsuteru, June 18 1935 - April 15 2004) was a famous Japanese mangaka, whose creations such as Tesujin 28 (aka Gigantor), Giant Robo, Otenba Tenshi, Babel II, and Mahoutsukai Sally (Sally, the Witch), many of which were developed into anime series. His life's work was the 60 volume retelling of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which won the Manga Artists Association award in 1991.
Yokoyama died in a fire at his home in Tokyo. He was found unconscious in bed with severe burns early Thursday. He died 16 hours later at a hospital near his home.
