Mitchell Highway

The Mitchell Highway is a major rural highway in central and northern New South Wales, Australia. The highway starts at Bathurst and links Orange, Molong, Wellington, Dubbo, Narromine, Nevertire, Nyngan and Bourke. The Mitchell Highway is named after Major Thomas Mitchell, who was Surveyor-General of New South Wales in the 1820s and explored much of inland New South Wales and Victoria.
