Miniature Card or MiniCard is a flash memory card standard first promoted by Intel Corp. in 1995 and backed by Advanced Micro Devices, Fujitsu and Sharp Electronics. The Miniature Card is 37 x 45 x 3.5 mm thick and can have devices on both sides of the substrate. The Miniature Card format competed with SmartMedia and CompactFlash cards, also released during the mid-1990s. They were all signigicantly smaller then PC Card Type I memory cards, though CF and SM cards were more successfull then it in consumer electronics.
