Mega Man V (RockMan 5 in Japan) is a video game that is a part of the Mega Man Classic series. The video game was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System in North America and Europe, and on the Famicom in Japan.
The series is the sequel to the video game Mega Man IV. In the game, Dr. Light is kidnapped. MegaMan sees a note apparently written by Proto Man, his "brother". It is later revealed that Dr. Wily made a robot that posed as Proto Man that kidnapped Dr. Light, and Mega Man, after finding this out, has to go defeat Wily.
This game marks the first appearance of Beat, a bird robot that helps out Mega Man after the player collects eight parts of the name of the title, "M", "E", "G", "A", "M", "A", "N", and "V".
