Mechanicsville is a census-designated place located in Montour County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 3,099.

Mechanicsville is located at 40°57'58" North, 76°35'27" West (40.966240, -76.590781)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.3 km² (2.0 mi²). 5.3 km² (2.0 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 3,099 people, 1,172 households, and 732 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 586.5/km² (1,517.4/mi²). There are 1,236 housing units at an average density of 233.9/km² (605.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 95.03% White, 0.90% African American, 0.03% Native American, 3.10% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.45% from other races, and 0.48% from two or more races. 1.03% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,172 households out of which 27.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.2% are married couples living together, 9.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.5% are non-families. 35.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.20 and the average family size is 2.85.
