McGhee Tyson Airport is an airport in Alcoa, Tennessee, approximately 12 miles south of Knoxville, Tennessee. Its IATA Airport Code is TYS. The airport occupies over 2,000 acres (8 km²). The airport also serves as a base for the 134th Refueling Group, part of the Tennessee Air National Guard. They fly KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft for aerial refueling of military aircraft.
