Marlin rifle
|
A Marlin rifle refers to any rifle manufactured by the Marlin Firearms Company. Types of Marlin rifles include:
- The model 1889 repeating rifle (featuring the 'Marlin Safety', the first side-ejecting cartridge mechanism)
- The 1895 Military Repeator
The Marlin Firearms Company was the brain-child of John Mahlon Marlin, who founded the company in 1870, in New Haven, Connecticut. Over the company's 130+ years of firearms production, they are best known for their manufacture of high power, center fire, lever action and .22 caliber rim fire rifles. They have also made shot guns, that in many cases are the prized possessions in personal gun collections (many of which have been featured in such Hollywood movies as The Terminator and its sequels).
