Marjorie Rendell

Marjorie ("Midge") Osterlund Rendell is a federal judge in Pennsylvania. She has been the First Lady of the state of Pennsylvania since January 21, 2003. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor from Villanova Law School, she practised as an attorney for twenty years as a partner in the Philadelphia firm of Duane, Morris & Heckscher. In 1994 she became a judge for Pennsylvania's Eastern District, and since 1997 she has served as a judge in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
She is a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania.
In 1993 she founded and managed Avenue of the Arts, Inc., whose purpose was to develop Philadelphia's Broad Street into a world-class artistic venue.
She married Ed Rendell in 1971, who is the current Governor of Pennsylvania. They have one son, Jesse, a 2002 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and bassist for the southern New Jersey band Don't Look Down (http://www.dontlookdown.com).
